Swimming is the one activity every child should learn early, for safety as much as fitness. Ahmedabad has Municipal Corporation (AMC) pools in many zones, plus club and academy pools; look for a certified coach, a pool depth suited to beginners and a batch size under ten.

Tennis coaching in Ahmedabad runs at city clubs, sports complexes and apartment-complex courts. Beginners start with mini-tennis on shorter courts; ask about the coach's AITA background and whether match play is included.

Badminton is one of Ahmedabad's most popular indoor sports, with academies and club courts in almost every locality. Look for wooden or synthetic courts, feeder coaches and a clear progression from beginner to competitive batches.
